AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Two UK airlines have reportedly decided not to advertise their services on the first anniversary of the 11 September terrorist attacks.

British Airways has announced that it will not advertise on radio, television and print between 7 and 15 September 2002, while Virgin Atlantic will not run its usual adverts in the Sunday newspapers on 8 September 2002, and has no plans to advertise in the run-up to the anniversary.

The two airlines - who have both cancelled services on 11 September due to a drop in bookings - claims the move is out of respect for the victims of the terrorist attacks, reported PA News.
