Norwegian publisher Fast Forward Media Group and Allisblue, a technology company based in Belgium, are working together to combine online magazines with a mobile short message texting service to link mobile handset users to Internet publications.
With the launch of the new service consumers will be able to send keywords to a short telephone number from their mobile handsets, after which they will be sent e-mails with links to the magazines they have requested.
The animated magazines feature links to music, film and other multimedia content, which is sponsored by advertisers or can be bought and paid for from the user's mobile phone account. According to Fast Forward Media, the service will start with free online magazines such as PlayMusicMagazine.com, with the company expecting to add more keywords enabling consumers to compile tailored magazines and messages.
SMS to e-mail technology is provided by Allisblue, enabling consumers to send text messages instantly after picking up keywords from friends, billboards or on the radio and then find links to magazines in their e-mail inboxes when they log on.
